Hospice provides 24-hour-a-day on call support for patients and their families, as well as grief counseling for families and friends following the death of a loved one.

Palliative care is medical care for individuals of any age who have a chronic, life-limiting illness. Palliative medicine strives to relieve suffering. It also addresses physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs to help the patient and their family maintain the best quality of life. Palliative medicine can be offered simultaneously with all other appropriate medical treatment. In addition to alleviating the patient’s discomfort, palliative care can also provide family the opportunity to gather information about how an illness is likely to progress and to begin planning for long-term-care needs.
