The CSA Difference is the manner in which a professional who is a specialist in aging executes services or develops products for the benefit of older adults and their families.
Using the CSA difference is what makes a Certified Senior Advisor exceptional. Providing services or developing products for older adults without comprehensive knowledge of all issues older adults are facing today is not smart business. The application of knowledge gained through the Working with Older Adults course and/or other credible resources in the fields of aging combined with their professional expertise and highly ethical behavior is of significant benefit to older adults and their families. The professional who has their particular area of expertise, but wants to become a specialist in aging works to build their health, social, legal, financial and ethical knowledge in aging through continuing education. They develop a strong network of strategic partners who will act in concert on the behalf of the older adults they serve using evidence supported practices and viewing each individual as a whole person. These traits demonstrate the CSA difference resulting in positive outcomes for the professional and most importantly, the older adult.
I am proud to be a professional who is also a specialist in aging, proving every day that the application of my knowledge affects my business practices in order to benefits older adults and their families while demonstrating the CSA Difference.
As a Certified Senior Advisor, I believe in being completely transparent about my level of expertise, my education and credentials, the results of the criminal background check I pass every three years, the code of ethics I follow and the type and amount of business liability insurance I carry. I want the public to be aware that there are 4,000 certifications in the Unites States and only 10% meet and maintain the demanding requirements to be an accredited certification. I have earned one of the 10%, the Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) accredited certification. I am a specialist in aging who has and will continue to study the health, social, legal, financial and ethical issues faced by older adults. I keep up with the current trends in aging in the areas mentioned as well as elder abuse, policy, technology and lifestyle. Applying this knowledge benefits my clients in my area of expertise, but finding and vetting other professionals from various fields who are aligned with my principals enables my clients to also benefit from these additional valuable resources.
All individuals who have earned and maintain the Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) accredited certification have gone above and beyond. The CSA certification is not a requirement of any industry.
