PAST EVENT DAY

Love A Senior Day Belleville, IL  was held at the Belle-Clair Expo Center, on Friday June 10, 2022

What an amazingly fun day!  The place was filled with seniors, vendors and fun seekers for an all day event.  

From the speakers to the prizes, listening to the music provided by honored guest performer Ron Marlowe, living it up with the Gateway Grizzlies mascot; Izzy, and ending the day with musical BINGO hosted by Big Papa G.  

Special thanks to all the sponsors, vendors and participants who truly care about the older Americans in this great city and they took the time to be a part of the festivities of Love A Senior Day to prove it. A very special thank you to Treehouse Wildlife Center volunteers who were amazing!  

We were honored to be invited by The Uncle Gene Foundation and to have worked with Gene Verdu himself, before his passing earlier in 2022.  We moved the day forward in his honor and the Uncle Gene Foundation continued to support this day in his name by becoming a Gold Sponsor!  

We have been asked to go back in 2023…..so stay tuned and pencil in June 9, 2023 on your calendar!  We will try to make it happen!

Uncle Gene

This Love A Senior Day was originally scheduled for 2020. So you guessed what happened
there and why we postponed. Then it was scheduled for 2021…moved again due to concerns
for safety of seniors.
Our host for the event was the Uncle Gene Foundation, name for Uncle Gene himself who did
so much for St. Clair County. We had planned to do a 6 part series title “The Uncle Gene
Show”. We were able to record some of his trailers for these shows, including what his plans
were for the Love A Senior event itself!
